Does this sound wrong to you? If you want to do business on the Internet, either through selling online or marketing your products and services, probably the very LAST people you should go to or appoint to your business are: techies, web designers, or so-called ‘internet service providers’. Why is this? Simple really. Internet business is NOTHING to do with computers or technology. It’s ALL to do with business and using traditional business skills, like selling and marketing. Okay, you do need computers, broadband connectivity, and some basic IT skills - that’s a given. However, these are just tools like the telephone, or fax. Why would you expect a computer whizzkid (and mostly they are kids) to be able to help you market or sell your business offerings? They can’t and they shouldn’t. Doing business on the Internet is no different from anything else. You’ve got to do it right. You’ve got to give good customer service. You will always only get what you pay for. There are no bargains and it sometimes isn’t cheap to achieve the objectives you have set for the project.
